How to join us:
If you are new to SingThrough Central, contact us by sending an email to singthrough@verizon.net with your desired role(s) in the Subject Line. Please attach your materials as well. A get-acquainted audition may be requested.
A Contact Form should be printed, filled in and brought to the audition. Fees: Whether you wish to review a role you have sung before or prepare a new one, there is an option for you.
Here are the basic guidelines for participation:
For many roles, the BASIC package fee is $140 and includes TWO coachings and the reading. Coachings beyond the 2 in the package will be $50 each. For many important protagonist or title roles, it is suggested that you consider budgeting for more than two coachings, since two may not suffice. We have kept our fees the same for the last 4 years.
STC requires advance payment to reserve your role: after you’ve received your Official Offer for a role in a reading, you can send a check made out to Susan Morton with the role in the MEMO line to the address below; or if you wish, you can use Chase Bank’s Quick Pay (no fee) OR PayPal. For PayPal send an email to me and I will send a PayPal invoice to your email (3% PayPal fee will be added.)
Alternately, an individual coaching plus the reading is $100 when doing a short role or reviewing a role done before. This option is subject to review by the Director of SingThrough Central in consultation with the singer. The reading fee is $55 per role per reading session.
If a reading is designated as one which will receive a public performance, a second reading fee will be added to the package fee for a total of $195. Any additional rehearsals (usually with other singers in the group) will be at STC’s coaching rate of $50/hour to be split amongst the singers.
Covers are often sought for these readings. Covers must remain available on the reading date and are invited to attend the reading at no fee. Covers are eligible to have coachings for their role at the special STC rate ($50/hour). If a cover does ultimately go on, the reading fee is $55 and can be paid at that time.
PLEASE NOTE: Starting to learn a role from scratch when accepted into the project is not necessarily discouraged, but if the time framework is short, then more coachings will be necessary. In general, there is a 3-6 week time period from when you are accepted into the project to the reading date. This is why the more you know of the role beforehand, the better. The short lead time is a natural result of the complexity of schedules we often find here in New York.
